Towards a New Movement takes Mahogany Opera to the next stage of its development by drawing together artists from the worlds of opera, jazz, dance, visual art and film to create an event that is as aesthetically seductive as it is psychologically challenging.

Three short abstract works will be performed by multi-disciplined performers who take on each others’ roles as singers, dancers and instrumentalists.  The music combines abstract minimalism with jazz and electronic.  It will be visually arresting with film projections and light curtains.  The production sets out to represent the spectrum of human emotions and disorders that is at times unsettling, touching or comic leaving the audience uncertain of the world in which they’ve entered.
